This past 2007 has also brought new art and artists, incorporation for the gallery and continued procrastination in updating my web site. My New Year’s resolution is to remedy that by expanding and developing the site in some new directions.
Over the last eight months I have scanned all of my slides – it has been like taking my many trips down south all over again. Twenty years of travel, meeting and working with many wonderful people, many now gone but not forgotten. I plan to spend 2008 adding images from my trips documenting the art and environments of many of the 21st centuries best-known contemporary self taught artists.
The gallery will be introducing some new artists such as the wonderfully creative Jeff Zenick and Gazbo Dean.
At Home Folk Art Gallery continues to be a source for collecting, trading and selling contemporary folk and self-taught art with an emphasis on the America's Southern regions and America's best known self taught artists.
Also, we are pleased to represent the estate of James Harold Jennings, one of North Carolina’s best know folk artists. The upcoming issue of RAW VISION will include a cover story about Jennings written by Tom Patterson with photography by Michael Smith. (me)
